Avery Dennison Matrix Waste Directory Now Includes Canada

MENTOR, OH | Avery Dennison has added Canadian listings for matrix waste disposal to its online directory of landfill-free disposal providers.
The searchable directory, which was initially launched in May, now features 20 non-landfill processors in Canada in addition to 175 non-landfill processors in the US.
“Many of our customers are committed to diverting their matrix waste from landfill disposal,” says Rosalyn Bandy, senior sustainability manager, Avery Dennison Materials Group. “Our ‘landfill-free’ directory helps converters take the first step to connect with waste processors in their region who can help them improve their sustainability footprint.”
The interactive map features a directory that indicates locations of non-landfill operations or energy-from-waste facilities. Most of these operations process discarded pressure-sensitive scrap materials generated by label presses into energy sources. Company says one such source is fuel pellets, which can be a direct substitute for coal but with a lower carbon and overall emissions footprint.
The tool is based on company’s own information and was developed in collaboration with key converters, recycling experts, and key channel partners. Landfill-free options may not be available in all areas.
