CMM is launching CMM Live!, an online virtual trade show designed to provide converting professionals with an interactive online experience. The first annual event will take place on October 14 from 8 A.M.-6 P.M. CST.
The online version will feature virtual booths showcasing the latest products and technologies, conference sessions offering interactive Q&A, online networking with converters around the world, and a variety of other benefits. The virtual event will have many of the same features as CMM Intl., but converting professionals can experience it from their own computers anywhere in the world, without travel or other operational expenses.
CMM event director MaryBeth DeWitt says converting equipment suppliers also will realize benefits, including lead management, real-time interaction via live chats and e-mail exchanges, a live link to websites to drive traffic to information on product offerings, and more.
CMM also is promising new features for its next nonvirtual edition, scheduled for June 2-4, 2009, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.
A Folding Carton Technology Center will join two returning tech centers from 2007, one dedicated to flexible packaging and now headed by Jim Lepp, executive director of the Packaging and Label Gravure Assn., and the Narrow-to-Mid-Web Technology Center, again headed by Vince Ditrolio. The latter will be expanded in 2009 into separate but adjoining centers for narrow and mid-web. The new folding carton center will be coordinated by industry veteran Fred Shapiro. All three centers will feature running equipment producing actual jobs.
Also on the agenda for 2009 is an expanded educational program and new networking opportunities, reports show manager PennWell. For more information on CMM 2009, visit www.cmmshow.com.
