Triple Play for Nordmeccanica

Piacenza, Italy | Nordmeccanica announces the third North American installation within 18 months of its Triplex Combi Vertical multi-ply coater/laminator. The most recent installation took place in October at Plastic Packaging in Hickory, NC, described as an innovative converter with energy and environmental concerns. Developed with interchangeable coating heads, the versatile equipment is said to meet virtually “every possible application in flexible packaging from the standard rotogravure all the way to the patented Nordmeccanica ‘solvent-free’ coating head,” according to the supplier.

The machine is capable of two- or three-ply laminations in a single pass or any combination of two-ply lamination and one coating process (such as cold seal in-register, anti-fog, primers, etc.), using both dry-bond and solvent-free adhesives. The manufacturer reports an innovative machine configuration and a unique drying system with integrated recirculation features contribute to energy savings.

The Triplex Combi Vertical, the Linear dry bond laminator, and the 1-Shot three-ply solvent-free laminator can be seen at an open house hosted by Nordmeccanica at its headquarters in Piacenza during Converflex on March 24-28 at Fieramilano, Rho-Milan, Italy.
