More Pouches, More Sizes

CINCINNATI, OH

A new Mamata pouching machine is at work in the Cary, IL, facility of Ampac Flexibles.

The Vega 610 is giving Ampac the ability to increase the range of pouches from simple three-side seal flat in limited sizes to unlimited sizes without requiring new tooling. It also produces Doyen-style stand-up pouches and plowed-in bottoms with zippers and tear notches.

“We are excited to be able to offer a broader range of pouch styles and sizes to our customers, as well as respond more quickly to their needs with the new Mamata,” says Sal Pellingra, innovation and marketing director at Ampac. “The Vega 610…has a good cost/benefit ratio, and we are pleased with [its] advanced features, especially its excellent sealing control.”

The servo-driven machine has a speed range of 1,500-5,000 cycles/hr and will handle a maximum web width of 1,220 mm and a sealing width of 8 mm.
