BOPP Line Up and Running Quickly

In June 2001 Italian film producer Manuli Film S.p.A. signed a contract with Brückner Maschinenbau to design, manufacture, and set up what is said to be the world's largest and fastest high-performance 10-m BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) film line.

The line was designed to produce up to 41,250 tons/yr of high quality film, with more than 7,000 kg/hr extrusion output and speeds to 500 mpm. It was running in continuous shifts three days after startup.

Reports Manuli plant manager Gianclaudio Bassano, “Brückner's competence and experience in building and commissioning lines of this size enabled us to realize the whole project in a relatively short time frame and to start the production well ahead of the schedule.”

It's apparent the company is pleased with Brückner equipment — Manuli has purchased eight complete stretching lines from the supplier since 1977.
