Atmospheric Plasma Treater Improves Folder/Gluer Productivity
MENOMONEE FALLS, WI | Enercon Industries reports Green Bay Packaging's Folding Carton Div., Depere, WI, is benefitting from the installation of the Dyne-A-Mite IT Elite atmospheric plasma treater.
Tom Vogel, Green Bay Packaging's plant engineering manager, says, “Previously, folder/gluer press speeds were limited by glue application speed and dwell time. With atmospheric plasma surface treatment, press speeds can be significantly increased while maintaining and even improving quality.”
EskoArtwork, Strata Partner in 3D Design
GENT, BELGIUM | EskoArtwork and Strata have a partnership agreement under which Strata will market a new product, Strata Enfold 3D CX, which is based on EskoArtwork technology. EskoArtwork will include the ability to import Strata Foto 3D CX data files into ArtiosCAD.
The Strata Enfold 3D CX plug-in allows users to create professional folded 3D designs directly in Adobe Illustrator. Users can link Photoshop graphics to 2D Illustrator artwork, define die-cut lines and folding scores, and then see it in 3D directly in Illustrator.
PPC Seeks Competition Entries
SPRINGFIELD, MA | The Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) is launching its 67th Annual National Paperboard Packaging Competition. All entries will compete for Package of the Year, and entrants also can choose to compete for the Innovation Award, which recognizes outstanding design based on processing and structual integrity, and the Eco Award, which celebrates sustainable uses of paperboard as an original or replacement substrate.
Entry deadline is December 11. Winners will be announced at PPC's Outlook & Strategies conference Mar. 29-31, 2010, in Cincinnati, OH. For more information visit www.ppcnet.org.
