Label Feats & Wonders

With six halls and more than 650 exhibitors, Labelexpo Europe 2009 has been dubbed “The Greatest Label Show on Earth.” It's a bold claim, but the industry's premier label show has pulled out all the stops to present a comprehensive showcase of label-industry heavy hitters, innovative new solutions, and a two-day seminar program that will expose attendees to new opportunities and innovations still available in today's challenged economy.

The show will be held September 23-26 at the Brussels Expo in Belgium. Show organizer Tarsus Group predicts this year's installment will exceed its record-breaking 2007 event. A sixth hall has been added, which Tarsus says will offer “more products, more launches, and more product demonstrations.”

Attendees will be able to visit booths across various niches, including the following segments:

  • Multi-substrate presses
  • Digital presses
  • Laser die-cutting
  • RFID
  • Prepress and plate making
  • In-line decoration systems
  • Multi-process ink systems
  • VIP substrates
  • High technology label materials
  • Films
  • Sleeves and wraps

Attendees also will notice new additions to the show floor, including the Digital Label Experience as well as the new Green Park, which will feature a variety of sustainability solutions.

Seminar Program

Attendees can learn the latest trends and technologies at Labelexpo Europe's two seminar sessions. “Beyond the Recession: Investing in the Future,” will be presented by industry consultant Mike Fairley and Roger Pellow, Labelexpo managing director, with a converter/brand owner panel. Held Thursday, September 24, this session will summarize findings of recent converter surveys; offer a candid discussion of what brand owners want from their converters; provide ideas on the development of a service industry solution; and focus on key areas for investment and growth.

On Friday, September 25, Fairley and Andy Thomas, group managing editor of Labels & Labeling magazine, will present “Brand and Product Opportunities with Narrow Web,” along with a converter panel. The informative seminar will discuss how converters can use their existing presses and converting technology to create new solutions for customers. Attendees will learn how to manufacture and market products such as pouches, sachets, and sleeves.
