Italian Industry Associations Cover Converting News

ITALY—Business leaders know one of the fundamentals of staying competitive lies in staying informed about industry developments at home and abroad. And in our ever-increasing globally oriented economy, it's never been more imperative. Two Italian industry associations—ACIMGA (Italian Manufacturers Association of Machinery for the Graphic, Converting, and Paper Industry) and UCIMA (Italian Association of Automatic Packing and Packaging Manufacturers)—are making converting industry news available on their respective web sites, www.acimga.it and www.ucima.it. In addition, the associations' newsletter provides highlights of many industry events in Italy and in Europe.

Some events featured in the November-December "Newsletter ACIMGA e UCIMA online" include:

  • "The packaging and printing industry become part of e-commerce." The Italian packaging and printing industry has become part of business-to-business e-commerce so as to be able to manage relationships with partners, customers, and suppliers on-line. This news follows the agreement signed back in October in Bologna by UCIMA, ACIMGA, and the veritical portal for the mechanical industry www.Mecmarket.com, which will provide the companies that are part of the two associations with their own B2B technological platforms.

  • Events

    MEDPACK 2001—Naples, September 28–30, 2001, Mostra d'Oltremare fair complex
The first edition of Medpack, the Mediterranean trade fair for technologies and products for the packaging and packing, food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and mechanical-handling industries, was deemed a great success: 4,000 visitors uphold the decision not to postpone the trade fair [despite September 11 terrorist attack on the US].

  • MEDPRINT 2002—Naples, October 25-27, 2002, Mostra d'Oltremare fair complex
83 companies already set to make MedPrint big: The 2002 edition promises record numbers of prestigious names and a considerable increase in exhibit-space requests. With one year to go before the second edition of the Mediterranean graphic arts and converting trade fair (organized by Centrexpo SpA), companies such as Bobst, Indigo, KBA, and Man Roland have booked space for the event.
