Ninth Paper/Forest Products Global Outlook Conference Will Help NYC in More Ways Than One

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, USA—"Building for the Future": There probably couldn't be a more appropriate title—or venue—for the annual Paper/Forest Products Global Outlook Conference this year. Slated for November 5th and 6th at the Crowne Plaza Manhattan in New York City, the two-day event will help bolster Manhattan's shaky economic status—in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center—in more ways than one.

In addition to the tourism and travel dollars the conference will bring to the borough, event organizers say a percentage of the conference proceeds will be dontated to NYC relief efforts.

An event to provide "information, insight, and business contacts to ensure intelligent strategic planning, finanical analysis, and investment management," the global outlook conference will include sessions that review several issues, including: global economic trends buffeting the paper/forest products industry; how foreign exchange swings are shifting global costs; the cost management of capital; risk management/hedging; the global competitive environment; the the possible onset of the "paperless" age; and the outlook for major grade segments. Event sponsors include: Accenture, Enron Industrial Markets, Marsh USA, and Paperloop.

For more information contact Dana Jacoby, conference director, at 415/947-3608; Drew Miller, conference chairman, at 415/947-3665; or call the conference registration desk (toll free in the US and Canada) at 877/552-3401.
