Davis-Standard Plans 24/7 Extrusion Support

PAWCATUCK, CT, USA—Davis-Standard announces plans to create a new 24-hr., 7-day-a-week extrusion support center based at its headquarters in Pawcatuck, CT. To futher support customer profitability, says the co., the center would provide customers worldwide with a fully staffed, in-house resource offering professional advice, immediate parts shipment, and service personnel travel-scheduling around-the-clock.

Says Robert Neugent, director of Davis-Standard's technical/customer service center, "The greatest advantage of this service is it provides a staffed facility with experienced engineers, not just someone on a cell phone giving professional advice from home. This center will be created for and supported by customers so they have access to a staffed facility at any time of the day, any day of the week."

Davis-Standard says the new center will be staffed with a skilled team of electrical, mechanical, and parts engineers and will have a vast inventory of frequently used parts. All facility engineers will be required to have extensive knowledge of Rockwell, Eurotherm, Yaskowa, Control Techniques, ABB, and Siemens drives as well as knowledge of extrusion electronics and control loops applicable to every extrusion process. Customer access will cost $3,000 (US) per site for customers within the continental US and $5,000 (US) per site for international customers.
