NIP 19: International Conference on Digital Printing Technologies

Sponsored by Society of Imaging Science and Technology ( IS&T) with cooperation of the Imaging Society of Japan (ISJ).

SPRINGFIELD, VA, USA—IS&T invites authors interested in submitting original technical contributions on advances and future directions of digital printing to do so on or before March 7, 2003; planned notification of acceptance will occur at approximately the end of April 2003. Papers must have significant technical content; the committee will not accept papers of a marketing or advertising nature. In addition says IS&T, the conference will include papers of both oral and interactive format, with each submitting-author's preference being taken into some account.

IS&T says the comprehensive technical papers program will be divided into three oral tracks. The session topics are as follows:

  • color science and image processing

  • commercial printing and industrial printing

  • digital printing/quality-control instrumentation

  • image permanence

  • ink jet: materials

  • ink jet: processes

  • digital printing media

  • photo-electric materials and devices

  • print and image quality

  • printing systems engineering/optimization

  • production digital printing

  • security and forensic imaging

  • textile and fabric printing

  • toner-based printing: materials -- innovative processes

  • toner-based printing: materials -- quality upgrade and innovation

  • toner-based printing: processes

  • thermal printing
