UPM Raflatac Says: It's Prime Time!

MILLS RIVER, NC –| UPM Raflatac described its mission during Labelexpo Americas: to lift its prime labeling product and service offering to a new level. At this year's show, the company demonstrated how its new business organization, new capabilities, and new product offerings are proof that "It’s Prime Time!" for a new way of working together.

During the course of 2010, UPM Raflatac aligned its business organization, resources, and operational capabilities to mirror the way its customers do business and strengthen its product and service offering. This reorganization of assets, resources, technology, and people has allowed the company, sources say, to develop and trial new solutions more easily, offer shortened production lead times, and offer a more comprehensive range of new product constructions.

At Labelexpo Americas, UPM Raflatac debuted a renewed digital labelstock portfolio that includes products certified for use with HP Indigo’s WS6000 digital press as well as new products for specials applications–including ultra removable labelstocks and products for industrial and chemical applications, tire labeling, and security labeling. The company will also feature next generation direct mail and charity labeling products, an expanded wine labeling portfolio and RP48AT–the company's high quality, high performance, all-temperature adhesive.

UPM Raflatac also served as a material supplier for the Labelexpo Technology Workshops, which featured four working presses, each using a different printing technology, but striving to produce the same results on identical substrates. These sessions also demonstrated HD Flexo,ink-jet, and digital printing technologies in action in Hall F during the exhibition.

A long-time leader in environmental issues, UPM Raflatac presented at the “Label life-cycle (sustainability)” session of the Labelexpo Americas conference program that was held September 14. Laura Cummings, sustainability and environmental mgr. for UPM Raflatac, Americas, also shared strategies for serving as an environmentally responsible supply chain partner.
