Pregis Showcases its Sustainability Leadership at Pack Expo 2023

Pregis, a leading manufacturer of protective packaging, demonstrates its commitment to sustainability by joining the 2023 Pack Expo Sustainability Central Exhibit to feature its AirSpeed^® Hybrid Cushioning (HC) Renew™ PCR product, a solution crafted from 80 percent post-consumer recycled (PCR) material.

Sustainability Central is a featured exhibit presented by PMMI designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of packaging sustainability. Curated by Fuseneo, the exhibit encourages participants to expand their thinking across critical areas of packaging sustainability, ranging from manufacturing materials through to packaging design.

Featured in the materials portion of the exhibit, the innovative HC Renew PCR demonstrates how an inside-the-box shipping solution meets the growing demand for circular packaging. HC Renew PCR minimizes environmental impact while providing the same protection and durability as traditional air cushions. It reduces carbon emissions by 40 percent, fossil fuel usage by 65 percent, and water usage by 70 percent when compared to cushioning film made with virgin resin, as evaluated through a comprehensive lifecycle assessment.

The unique combination of sustainability and premium protection makes it ideal for various markets, including e-commerce retail, home goods, beauty and cosmetics, electronics, and nutraceuticals.
