Tape Useful for a Variety of Splicing Applications

Arclad 8411 is a highly visible blue, self-wound paper tape designed for high tack and superior adhesion to multiple substrates for use in a variety of splicing applications. Single-faced tape is said to have exceptional edge tear resistance and high internal strength, as well as an aggressive, quick-stick adhesive that is excellent for automatic and O-speed splicing applications on polycoated paper and paperboards, PET, PE, PS, and thin embossed films. Tape is also tearable, so knives are not necessary when making splices, emphasizing safety and convenience for operators, co. says.
Film Offers Shrink-Tightening Properties

Propafilm OS BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) is designed to tighten onto the pack particularly when passed through a shrink tunnel, which is said to allow good overwrap, even on complex shapes, with a glossy “lacquered” look. Film is said to be resistant to carton printing ink solvents. Also offers excellent barrier to moisture and flavor taint and a high degree of puncture resistance, thereby prolonging shelf life, co. reports.

Tesa 50453 provides 110 yd of continuous tape onto one roll, allowing fewer roll changes. Equipped with an advanced acrylic adhesive system, product is said to withstand temperatures to 392 deg F. D-520 and D-120 metallized papers are said to be ideal for a variety of applications including labels, direct mail, gift-wrap, promotional inserts, and cosmetics packaging. D-520 is metallized on both sides and is available in 60# stock. D-120 paper is 52# stock, coated one side, with a mirror-like surface said to have an extremely high gloss. Both papers are available in sheet and roll form and in widths to 86½ in.
