OMET Celebrates 50th Anniversary

LECCO, ITALY | OMET is celebrating 50 years in the tissue converting and narrow and mid-web printing markets with a series of events dedicated to customers, the press, and its employees.

Celebrations will begin with the participation to Tissue World in Barcelona, Spain, in March 2013 with a booth dedicated to the 50th anniversary, followed by celebrations in May where the company monograph "OMET 50 years of Passion and Excellence” will be unveiled, an open house organized in conjunction with Converflex in Milan, Italy, a gala dinner dedicated to major world customers in the printing and packaging sector, and the participation as advisors to "It's Tissue," a week of conferences, social events, and events that will include a visit to the 12 leaders of the tissue market in Italy, including OMET, scheduled for the week of June 22–30.

The celebrations will continue in the fall with the company’s participation to Labelexpo Europe 2013 in Brussels, Belgium, and will end with an internal event dedicated to the employees of the entire Group OMET.

In other company news, O-Pac, part of the OMET Group active in the production of wet wipes, recently moved to a new plant and the OMET Systems in Motion division was transferred to Valmadrera, near Lecco, to a larger and more modern complex. The tissue converting branch was relocated at the end of 2012 to an historical site in Via Caduti a Fossoli, renovated inside and out, and equipped with a new powerful photovoltaic system.
