Atlas to Present New-Generation Slitters at K 2013

BEDFORD, UK | Atlas Converting Equipment Ltd. will present its next-generation Atlas CW Series and Titan SR9 Series slitter/rewinder technology for film and flexible materials at K 2013 in Düsseldorf, Germany, October 16–23, at Stand 3-B91 in Hall 3.

The new CW1040 Series is designed to cope with the increasing speed of film production lines and is said to have faster acceleration and deceleration cycles and run longer rewind lengths at a speed of 1,500 mpm.

Company says benefits of the new technology include higher efficiency, increased productivity and reliability, higher quality rewind rolls, reduced noise levels, and more effective, operator-friendly control systems. The latest technology features wireless rewind arm positioning, automatic knife positioning, and direct drive web path rollers, reportedly ensuring optimum web tension for films as thin as 6 microns to 125 micron. Electrical cabinets are now fully integrated in to the machines to reduce the space required for installation with under-floor service trenches no longer required.

With the CW5000 Series available in widths from 3,600–5,400 mm, the complete CW Series now covers machine widths from 2,500–10,400 mm (98–410 in.) at speeds to 1,500 mpm (4,920 fpm).

The new-generation Titan SR9 Series secondary slitter/rewinders are said to provide high levels of slitting productivity, design modularity, and rewind roll quality. New features include reduced power consumption, faster set-up time, and improved sustainability.
