PRESS RELEASE

KENNESAW, GA—Heidelberg USA’s Speedmaster SM 52-D with inline die-cutting won PIA/GATF’s InterTech Award for innovation, the only offset press in the industry to achieve this honor this year. The win marks the 21st InterTech Award for Heildelberg since the program began in 1978.

According to Heidelberg, the Speedmaster 52-D combines offset technology with finishing capabilities, offering scoring, slitting, punching, and perforating in addition to die-cutting. Dies are mounted with magnets instead of clamps, reportedly resulting in faster make-readies. The press can also be equipped with a new vacuum waste removal system. Stocks of any thickness can be finished, company says. The SM 52-D with inline die-cutting comes with the Prinet CP2000 Center that is said to allow for adopting jobs and presetting data (inking/register) online.
