The Foundation of Flexographic Technical Assn. (FTA) will hold its 2008 Annual Forum April 27-30 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, TX, combining ten information sessions, the popular INFO*FLEX exhibition, and a celebration of FTA's 50th anniversary.

Almost 2,000 attendees are expected at the event, themed “FTA's Golden Anniversary: 50 years of Making Flexo Stronger.” Technical sessions will include Prepress; Business Management; Emerging Technologies; Flexo 101; FIRST/FQC; Faster, Better, Cheaper; and Sustainability.

“We've taken a ‘by the people, for the people’ approach,” says Smurfit-Stone's Scott Gilbert, the 2008 forum chair. “Each session is chaired by a printer/converter, which helped tremendously in developing the content because he/she could ask himself/herself, ‘Is this something I would want to hear as an attendee?’”

As of press time, 150 exhibitors were signed up to show off flexo-related equipment, supplies, and software at the INFO*FLEX tabletop exhibit. FTA expects the 2008 edition to be the biggest INFO*FLEX yet, with more international presence than ever before.

Also on the schedule are the awards banquet, a Golden Jubilee special event, and a 50th Anniversary luncheon.
