Italian Machinery Figures Positive

MILAN, ITALY | Double-digit growth in exports, domestic market recovery, and stable employment levels are driving the recovery of Italy's printing and converting machinery industry, reports the trade association ACIMGA.

From January to September 2010, global sales of Italian printing and converting machinery grew by 18% and imports by 20%. October displayed a similar performance, with exports up by 18.5% and imports by 20.1%. In the same period the previous year, exports dropped by 20.2% and imports were down by 39.6%.

In terms of technology, printing machinery displays the best performance with sales increasing by over 38%, prepress by 32%, and converting machinery by 15%.
