  • Edale Ltd., Romsey, Hampshire, UK, a printing and converting press manufacturer specializing in commercial security solutions, is moving in 2009 to a new custom-built headquarters factory in Whiteley, UK.

  • The LaserSharp Flexible Packaging Application Center of LasX Industries forms a new company, LaserSharp FlexPak Services, with a new facility in Vadnais Hts., MN, to be managed by Juan Carlos Tinoco.

  • Sakata INX, Tokyo, Japan, reports Italy's Anteprima SRL will become a member of INX Digital, the digital arm of INX Group Ltd. The agreement strengthens Anteprima's ongoing relationships with other INX Digital members, along with its offerings of wide and super-wide format digital printing equipment, supplies and service.

  • Xeikon, Itasca, IL, and JV Imaging Solutions (JVIS), Northborough, MA, form a joint referral partnership program in which JVIS will offer its clients the Xeikon 3300 and Xeikon 3000 digital label color presses, and Xeikon will be able to further strengthen its position in the digital labels and packaging market.

  • 3M, St. Paul, MN, through its Commercial Graphics Div., has entered into a licensing agreement with Mondi Coating and Release, Vienna, Austria, granting Mondi limited rights to 3M patented technology. The licensed technology enables Mondi to structure the surface of its release liners in specific patterns related to the manufacture of large-format graphic films so these graphics can be applied easily, quickly, and with fewer defects. Reportedly, this means higher quality graphics and lower installation costs.

  • Curwood Inc., Oshkosh, WI, a div. of Bemis Co., Neenah, WI, plans to expand its operations in Fremont, OH. The Fremont plant, which employs 141 people, plans to add 50 new positions over the next three years as the expansion goes into effect. The plant's excellent safety performance and positive workforce attitude were cited as factors in the decision to choose the Fremont location.
