Die-Cutter Adds Capacity And Capabilities

CARLSTADT, NJ

A SPeria 106-E Autoplaten die-cutter from Bobst is speeding up things at Compu-pak, a full-service finisher. The new equipment, which can run at 7,700 sheets/hr, is an expansion of capacity as well as capabilities, says Compu-pak president Rick Esposito. “Due to the increase in demands for larger capacity runs and exacting capabilities from our present customer base, in addition to requests from a new source of proposed customers, who also demand larger orders and quicker turnarounds, we found it necessary to expand our capabilities.” Average order sizes at the company have grown from 15,000-25,000 sheets to 40,000-50,000 sheets. Comp-pak will continue to operate its original Bobst 1080-E, says Esposito, while the new SPeria provides a platform for future expansion of the company's capabilities and value-added offerings.
