Midwest Converters See Foiling Future at Propheteer Presentation

PALATINE, IL, USA—Propheteer International says it recently hosted a foiling seminar for converters/printers based in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Held April 3, 2002, at Propheteer's new 76,000 sq ft plant, the event was co-hosted by Akzo Nobel Inks, and says the press manufacturer, the event featured side-by-side demos of hot- and cold-foil technology. Adds the co., "[It] was well attended as area converters took advantage of this unique opportunity to weigh the advantages of both technologies.

According to Propheteer, the demonstration was run on its ULTRA UV flexo press. DMS Inc. reportedly lent its expertise to demo hot foiling, using both the co.'s hot stamping system and die. Propheeter says the job then was run using the new "DieLess" "thru-curing" method of cold foiling developed by API Foil and Akzo Nobel.

Propheteer says the event is the first hosted at its new facility, and, adds the mfr., its large turnout has encourged the co. to schedule a summer demonstration for label and carton converters/printers. Visit Propheteer at propheteerintl.com.
