Black Clawson Garners DuPont Award

FULTON, NY, USA—Black Clawson Converting Machinery reports it's recently garnered a "Quality Equipment Award" from E.I. DuPont. According to the OEM, Black Clawson received the honor in recognition of the successful commissioning of the mfr.'s new Advanced Technology Surfastart (ATS) winder and continuous turret unwind/splicer. DuPont purchased the production prototype of this recently patented winder design to enable lifting and winding of large-diameter rolls (of DuPont's construction-grade Tyvek Homewrap) onto small-diameter cores, directly in-line with their calendering and printing operation, co. reports.

"The Black Clawson ATS winder enables us to produce the larger-diameter Tyvek rolls in-line," says Walter "Rookie" Branam, DuPont's operations manager of construction products. "This reduces production cost, time, and waste. The new ATS winder has exceeded [our] expectations, and we are pleased to present [Black Clawson] with our 'Quality Equipment Award' as a small token of DuPont's appreciation."
