Gloucester, MA | Gloucester Engineering Co. has announced the signing the longest labor contract term in the company’s history. Over 140 employees, who are also members of the Cape Ann Local Lodge 2654, of the Intl. Assn. of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO, reached a four-year agreement with the company and its new owners.
The contract included a significant increase in tuition reimbursement as an investment in the employee’s education, which supports the company’s goals of having a highly skilled workforce and being a superior quality supplier for its customers.
The positive discussions during the contract negotiations resulted in the formation of a Labor/Management Committee. This Committee will meet regularly to ensure valuable input from the Union employees is a part of the management decisions as the company moves forward.
Gloucester Engineering Co, Inc. was acquired In October 2007 Gloucester Engineering Co, Inc. by a management buyout team led by Mousam Ventures LLC.
