MORTSEL, BELGIUM | The Agfa :Dotrix made its North American debut at Print 09 with two new features on the modular digital UV inkjet press. The Express Print Mode is designed to increase productivity from an already impressive 4,800 linear ft/hr to 6,300 ft/hr. This new feature also influences the ink drop volume of the grayscale inkjet heads without affecting the print resolution, which is said to allow print speeds up to 13,020.03 sq ft/hr, increasing efficiency and lowering production costs. A second enhancement to the :Dotrix is the new six-color extended gamut capability. This new color matching feature is designed to allow the best color match to meet the requirements of brand packaging, as well as other color-specific applications. The expanded color gamut also means :Dotrix can match 90% of all Pantone colors and numerous spot colors.
