PET Film: Mitsubishi Increases Price

GREER, SC, USA—Mitsubishi Polyester Film LLC (Americas) says it's increasing the price for all grades of Mitsubishi PET film in its North and Latin American markets. The increase is effective immediately. The price for all plain and corona-treated 48-gauge PET film is up 15 cents per lb; all other types of Mitsubishi PET film is up 10 cents per lb.

"The increase was a difficult decision," says Bill Radlein, Mitsubishi's VP of sales and marketing, "but a necessary one. With the escalating cost of raw materials and the lowest variable margins ever recorded in the polyester film industry, we were compelled to adjust our current pricing structure. On a positive note," he adds, "recent capital investments now will allow us to continue to offer Mitsubishi customers new and innovative products and services that will reduce costs throughout the value chain."
