NPE Abandons Chicago, To Reopen in Orlando in 2012

ORLANDO, FL | NPE, the International Plastics Showcase staged by the Society of the Plastics Industry, amid much public conjecture within the industry, has announced it’s moving the show from Chicago’s McCormick Pl. to the Orange Cty. Convention Ctr. in Orlando, FL.

According to a press release from the desk of Bill Carteaux, “a thorough review and analysis of the two contending host venues—Chicago and Orlando” was conducted with every aspect of the show taken into consideration. This included “the cost to exhibit to the convenience to attend.”

Carteaux explains, “I recognize that this is a big change for a show that has had its home in Chicago for the past 14 cycles. But, 2009 has been a year built on change, and the move to Orlando is one that will help see this industry through its recent challenges and emerge even stronger.”

More information is promised to come. In the meatime, the SPI website and business blog contains additional information about this announcement.
