Aluminum Association Celebrates 75th Anniversary

ARLINGTON, VA | The Aluminum Assn. will celebrate its 75th anniversary this month during its annual meeting, which will be held at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV, Oct. 19–21, 2008. The celebration will kick off with a welcome reception and dinner at Kate’s Mountain Lodge on October 19, at 6:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, will begin with a breakfast meeting, followed by several committee meetings and a General Session.

Leaders in the industry will speak throughout the day include Alain Belda, Chairman, Alcoa; Stephen Demetriou, chairman and CEO, Aleris International, Martha Brooks, president and COO, Novelis Inc.; Jonathan Lash, president, World Resources Inst., and George Haymaker, past chairman and CEO, Kaiser Aluminum.

A black tie dinner will be held Monday evening to honor current and past industry leaders and recognize this year’s Marlan Boultinghouse Service Award winner. A special video will also pay tribute to The Aluminum Assn.’s historic journey from 1933-2008.
