Back Seam Adhesives for Envelope Manufacturing

BRIDGEWATER, NJ | National Adhesives has published a new flyer on its back seam adhesives, which provide envelope manufacturers with consistent performance in rotary stencil seam applications, the company reports. According to the flyer, NATIONAL back seam adhesives have proven performance on the fastest folding equipment, giving minimal throw and clean transfer without splashing. The adhesives also are said to offer exceptional gum box stability and are formulated to stay cool in the gum box, minimizing the tendency of the adhesive to thicken over time.

These back seam adhesives reportedly provide good adhesion on difficult kraft, vellum, or rag bond papers, eliminating the need to change seam adhesives on all but the most porous of papers. The adhesives also are formulated to resist excessive penetration of the paper stock and premature reactivation of the seal gum. The company reports it works closely with machinery and equipment manufacturers to ensure that its adhesives match the latest technological advances and provide batch to batch consistency, qualities that help make envelope manufacturing operations more productive and profitable, according to the publication.
