AWEB 06 Announced, Calls for Papers


FORT MILL, SC—The Assn. of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL) and the Converting Equipment Mfrs. Assn. (CEMA) announce that AWEB 06, the inaugural Intl. Applied Web Handling Conference, will be held May 7-10, 2006, at the Charlotte Executive Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. The conference will focus on advanced technologies and/or applied research that directly impacts any aspect of web handling and converting with particular attention to productivity improvement and waste reduction. Targeted to technical professionals within engineering, quality and production control functions, core subject matter of AWEB 06 will center on exceptional and innovative web-handling techniques, equipment, design, materials, and process improvements.

AIMCAL and CEMA also have issed a call for papers. Abstracts, including title, author and a 50-150 word description, should be submitted by January 15, 2006, to AIMCAL via email (This email address is being protected from spambots. Proposals will be judged on:

  • Applicability to the advancement of the web handling and converting processes.
  • Uniqueness and innovativeness of new technology and its contribution to the industry.
  • Value to the technical/production community.
