P show will meet in Stuttgart, Germany

PRESS RELEASE

STUTTGART, GERMANY—P, the International Trade Fair for Process-Oriented Packaging Protection, will take place June 15-18, 2005. The estimated world market value for packaging and world packaging is €350 billion, with the German market alone estimated at €23 billion; coupled with an EU study that named Stuttgart the leading high-tech location in Europe, it seems natural that Stuttgart’s Trade Fair Centre will host the latest industry event. The old center in Killesberg will house the P show in 2005, and the 2007 show will then be held at the new center near the Stuttgart airport. The show’s organizers hope that links to an international airport, the motorway, and the international rail network will boost P’s internationalization.

At present there is no trade fair that covers the entire packaging production process. Messe Stuttgart, the show’s organizers, say that the show will be interesting for exhibitors who are involved in packaging preliminary stages (development, design, reprographics, and suppliers), supply machinery for the production of packaging and auxiliary packaging means, and work in the field of further processing. P will be held every two years. Messe Stuttgart expects to attract 250 exhibitors and around 20,000 visitors in 2005.
