Ipex News: Creo's Workflow Features Enhanced Flexo Features

BIRMINGHAM, U.K.—As the first week of Ipex draws to a close, attendees (and those of us receiving press releases from the event) have seen a flurry of technology—old, new, and upgraded. Among the Ipex exhibitors, Canada-based Creo Products, Inc (hall 4, stands 650/650A) has announced several new and upgraded technologies, one of which involves the company's packaging workflow.

According to Creo, Prinergy Powerpack™ (its packaging workflow) features Pandora™, a fully integrated step-and-repeat application from ScenicSoft, fully supports PDF 1.4 and is designed to optimize the press sheet surface automatically for label, postcard, and packaging printers.

In addition, says Creo, version 2.1 of the Prinergy Powerpack workflow will include enhanced features for flexographic printers, converters, and trade shops. "This version includes 7.5 degree-shifted flexo angle screening and vector scaling as standard features. Optional flexo features include MaxTone™ screening that allows for high-quality highlight dot reproduction and solid screening, which permits smoother shadow reproduction. Another feature, raster scaling, uses an advanced scaling algorithm to provide Prinergy Powerpack users with universal scaling solution for all their workflow needs," says the mfr.
