PPC Spring Meeting to Address Risk Taking

SPRINGFIELD, MA—The Paperboard Packaging Council reports its Spring Outlook and Strategies Conference, taking place April 8–10 in Salt Lake City, UT, will provide attendees invaluable information on successful risk taking, economic trends for the coming years, building winning organizational cultures, and much more.

Speakers include the following:

Caspar Berry, motivational speaker and former professional poker player, will provoke attendees to examine their decision-making processes and assess their attitudes toward risk. He'll identify the origins of the fear of failure and share a technique for embracing this fear in order to make more courageous—and successful—business decisions.

Don Yaeger, sports writer and executive coach, will share his "Consistent Characteristics of Greatness,” which he has distilled from more than 20 years of interviews with top business leaders and sports legends. Don’s tips on how to succeed despite turmoil and obstacles will help attendees improve their leadership skills so they can better motivate their teams and develop winning corporate cultures.

Alan Beaulieu, economist and president of ITR Economics, will forecast economic growth and increased levels of demand through 2016. He’ll address oil prices, the outlook for top markets, interest rates, and potential challenges from Europe and China—and he’ll reveal which trends will directly impact attendees’ companies.

Mary Anne Hansan, executive director of The Paper and Packaging Board, will provide an overview of the Board’s aim to promote the benefits of paper and paperboard to the general public.

“Our members attend our conferences again and again to hear the dynamic and insightful speakers we secure,” says PPC president Ben Markens. “This year will be no different, and I am certain that attendees will leave feeling both prepared and motivated to guide their businesses toward success in 2015 and beyond.
