Dr Pepper Returns to its Roots

CINCINNATI, OH | Dr Pepper has gone back to its roots with a retro glass bottle and a pressure-sensitive label featuring the nostalgic 10-2-4 motif.

The 10-2-4 feature derives from a slogan created in the 1930s: “Drink a Bite to Eat at 10, 2 and 4”. The idea originates from research indicating that these are the typical times of the day an average person experiences fatigue.

The sugar found in a bottle of Dr Pepper was the perfect remedy for this drop in energy. Manufacturers have revisited the original formula using real sugar rather than a sweetener, a current key trend within the soft drink industry with modern consumers craving natural ingredients.

Created using the same distinct design used in the 1950s, Constantia Spear used clear material with three colors and a gloss varnish to produce the pressure-sensitive label.

To finish the vintage look, the packaging features the use of a 12-oz. glass bottle. Glass was only choice for the nostalgic look and feel as well as glass being 100% recyclable material.
