FSEA/IADD Conference to Offer Plant Tours

TOPEKA, KS | Coming up soon is the joint conference of the Foil and Special Effects Assn. (FSEA) and the International Assn. of Diecutting and Diemaking (IADD). The event, scheduled for April 27–29, 2014, at the InterContinental Hotel in Milwaukee, WI, will feature two tour workshops on day one of the program.

Conference attendees will choose between tours of Letterhead Press, a national graphic arts leader specializing in fine embossing, foil stamping, holographic application, and other related services, or Blanking Systems, offering a complete solution for all blanking requirements, including tool design software, precision blanking tool components, accessories, training, and specialized machinery.

“These tour workshops present the perfect opportunity for attendees to share best practices with peers in their industry,” says FSEA executive director Jeff Peterson. “Both interactive tours provide an opening for in-depth cross-talk amongst attendees.”

The conference will begin with a supplier trade fair and welcome reception on Sunday evening, April 27. On Monday morning, keynote speaker Dr. Alan G. Robinson will focus on the importance of encouraging an atmosphere in which ideas for operational improvement and culture changes are generated at every level of an organization. Educational sessions will continue with business-impacting sessions on social media, tax law, and employment practices. After the plant tour workshops, day one of the conference will end with a reception at the Harley-Davidson Museum, hosted by Sentry Insurance.

Tuesday’s educational sessions will include highlights from a new study on high-visibility effects in packaging and also will include a panel discussion on digital technologies in print. The FSEA Gold Leaf Awards Banquet will recognize the best finishing work in the industry by announcing the gold, silver, and bronze award winners in more than 25 categories, and the FSEA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient will be honored.
