S+E Release Increases European Release Liner Position with Production Expansion
- Published: November 26, 2003, By PRESS RELEASE
JÜLICH, GERMANY—Schleipen & Erkens (S+E) AG recently celebrated the official start-up of a new coating machine. According to the German-based release-liner producer, the new machine will enable S+E to provide highly specialized solutions to the complex demands within the silicone release-liner field. "The investment of [more than] €3 million has secured the position of S+E as market leader in Europe," adds the company.
The investment in the new machinery, which required the extension of the production site, will fulfill the increasing demand for double-sided siliconized paper with a working width of up to 2.35 meters, says S+E. "An additional application unit and printing unit will ensure that customer orders from across the globe are carried out even more rapidly and flexibly," adds the release-liner manufacturer.
States S+E's Dr. Jürgen Schäfer, "By expanding our machinery capabilities, we are responding to the demands of our customers for thinner and lighter papers....The goal of the investments is to be able to provide customers with even more application-specific solutions; in other words, an increase in production volume is not the primary focus, but rather product specialization," he adds.
