Kodak Polychrome Graphics to Demo Flexo Plates at Drupa

PRESS RELEASE

NORWALK, CT, USA—Kodak Polychrome Graphics reports it will demo its new line of printing plates for the flexographic printing industry at Drupa in Düsseldorf, Germany, beginning next week. According to the manufacturer, the Flexcel line of flexo plates "deliver superior resolution and excellent color reproduction on any packaging substrate—from the thinnest polypropylene to the thickest corrugated board."

KPG says Flexcel plates are compatible with CTP (computer-to-plate) devices with a sensitivity range of 830 nm to 1064 nm and can run on press with solvent-, water-based, or UV inks. "Flexcel plates are designed with a wide exposure latitude and extremely short drying times to meet today's demanding quality and production schedules," adds the company.

Proofing Products
Also at Drupa, KPG says it will launch its First Check Desktop Proofing System Macintosh RIP, which, says the manufacturer, "[will bring] the benefits of this easy-to-use, affordable proofing system to the entire graphic arts community."

Adds the company: "The First Check Proofing System's ability to reproduce opaque white and metallic colors allows packaging designers and printers to create low-cost, high-quality mock-ups. The First Check Transfer film can be laminated to a variety of substrates to achieve the real look and feel of your package. And proofing to First Check Shrink Film is ideal for flexographic proofing applications."
