NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI | Toray Plastics (America) has installed new coating technology to enable the company to broaden its LumiLid brand polyester lidding film platform and respond to customers’ needs for advanced specialty lidding films.
“The global market for lidding films is expanding,” says Milan Moscaritolo, senior director of sales, Toray Plastics (America). “…Barrier performance, economic value, and the availability of specialty lidding films in varying widths when they are needed afford customers a distinct competitive advantage.” Specific markets requiring such lidding, says Moscaritolo, include packaging for meat, produce, dairy items, refrigerated and frozen foods, puddings, applesauce, desserts, wet and dry foods, and specialty items is especially popular.
