Flair Expands Capabilities with Additions

APPLETON, WI | Flair Flexible Packaging Corporation announces the acquisition of NuPack Corporation, an international supplier of flexible packaging materials, to strengthen Flair’s approach as an integrated supplier in the industry.

Located in Incheon, South Korea, NuPack reportedly provides high quality manufacturing, printing, and converting services to produce flexible packaging products to a wide range of customers. Flair says that by adding these components and capacity, it provides increased control, flexibility, and efficiency in business operations and a high level of quality and service for customers.

The acquisition of NuPack includes the following capabilities:

• Rotogravure printing presses (eight color; Flair is also exploring a ten-color press for 2016)

• Pouch converting, including spouting

• Dry lamination

• Slitting

• Laser perforation

Flair also has commenced operations at Quantum Industries in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. Quantum, which began production in May 2015, is a manufacturing facility specializing in multilayer extrusion (seven to nine layers) of high-barrier lamination purpose film. In addition to producing film, the facility allows Flair to conduct additional research and development exploring new film compositions and engineering.

“We are excited to add the capabilities of these two facilities to our existing business,” says Young So, president of Flair. “The growth of Flair has provided such opportunities that will continue to provide our customers with excellence in flexible packaging solutions.”
