GERMANY—Pagendarm has developed a new application system for optical film coating in the cleanroom. Basis for this new development was the Pressurized Chamber System AGS 2500 S. The system is made for inline coating of BOPET and BOPP foils. The coating unit is equipped with two independent coating cassettes. The web can be coated from both sides simultaneously. Without cutting the web, it is possible to change the cassettes for service and maintenance. This coating system allows to apply functional layers from one to 10 micron without any change of the coating rolls. Coating speeds of 500 meters per minute at a web width of 2,000 mm have been achieved. See pagendarm.com.
