To all my friends and colleagues out there in the converting industry, a big thank you for reaching out to me and asking about both PFFC and the future of those who staff it. Let me share some tidbits to fill you in.
While it should not be a surprise at this point, YTC Media Inc. is a corporation I formed with my partners, Tim Janes (now VP of Online Sales) and Claudia Hine (still Managing Editor of PFFC). Together we acquired the assets of Paper, Film & Foil Converter–PFFC. Someone asked me what YTC stands for and what it does.
While others might think any group of people might come up with a name packed with more creative punch, we discovered as our first challenge of adopting a name for our new venture quite challenging. Certainly no one wants to pick a new name that’s presently already in use, but it ought to be descriptive in some capacity of one’s business. So the “media” part of our corporation name describes the type of business we are running. As for the YTC portion of the name, it stands for none other but the first names of the partners: Yolanda, Tim, and Claudia.
As a visitor to PFFC-online.com, you can continue to access our online Buyers Guide, access White Papers, see videos, webinars, and read feature articles, news, and product news announcements. But best of all, PFFC still has on board its expert contributors, including Tim Walker, who writes on web handling issues in his column “Web Lines“; Kelly Robinson, who addresses electrostatic issues in his column “Static Beat“; and Mark Miller, who tackles coating concerns in his column “Coating Matters.”
Our bloggers include Kelly Robinson with Kelly on Static, Tom Bezigian with Tom’s Poly Ploys, we welcome Stephanie Millman as a new blogger on Marketing Mojo (you can find more information here soon on her debut), and myself with Yo’s Yarns.
And what a team the YTC Media staff is! Tim Janes has worked on the PFFC staff for the past ten years in a sales capacity. Now as VP of Online Sales, he can address all sponsorship/advertising opportunities for the online publication, weekly E-Clips, and bimonthly E-Xpress (to relaunch in February 2012). He can be reached at email@example.com.
Claudia Hine has worked with me on PFFC as the creative and personable Managing Editor wearing multiple hats for the last 12 years and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. Debbie Donberg has worked with me for 30 years and will continue to contribute editorial content for the website and E-Clips e-newsletter and can be reached at email@example.com. As for me, I’ve been on PFFC’s masthead for the last 16 years with a total of 33 years involved in the packaging and converting industries and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any news announcements, press releases, or articles you want to share with the PFFC audience, both Claudia and I can help you get your news published on the PFFC website or in E-Clips. Be sure to add our names and addresses to your media lists.
There will be more additions as the time for switching to our own hosting site approaches, so keep in contact and keep pace with us as we continue to hit the ground running. Your opinions matter to us!
