Heidelberg Intros Speedmaster XL 105 for Packaging and Label Printers at Drupa

PRESS RELEASE

DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY—Though Drupa concluded two weeks ago, the print media industry is still reeling from the vast array of product introductions at print's mega-trade fair staged every four years in Düsseldorf.

Among Heidelberg's introductions at Drupa was the Speedmaster XL 105, an offset press capable of producing to 18,000 sheets per hour. According to the German press maker:

The Speedmaster XL 105 [is the] world premiere of a new series of printing presses for highly industrialized offset printing....AS the first press in an entirely new peak performance class, the XL 105 sets new standards in terms of productivity, quality, and cost effectiveness.

This makes it the ideal production unit for label and package printers that handle long runs, a fact made possible by its high degree of automation, large print format (74 x 105 cm), and simple operation. Its unique system for contact-free sheet transport and innovations in the field of coating application deliver increased productivity of 30 percent or more.

Further innovative solutions, such as Autoplate Advanced for simple and register-accurate plate changing, increase the cost-effectiveness of printshop operations even further.
