AIMCAL and Dunmore Mark 40 Years Together
- May 03, 2010
BRISTOL, PA | This month, Dunmore will celebrate its 40th anniversary alongside AIMCAL. Dunmore was one of the original companies that made up the Vacuum Metallizers Association (VMA), which in 1970 became AIMCAL and began including industrial coaters and laminators. A decision that 40 years later has proven to be beneficial for all parties involved in the organization. The late Michael L. Sullivan, founder of Dunmore Corp. and AIMCAL president from 77-78, saw AIMCAL as a conduit for companies to collectively face industry challenges which in turn benefited everyone in the supply chain from the raw material vendors to the end use consumer.
Dunmore began in 1970 as a solutions provider for difficult challenges in the coating, lamination and metallization of films. To this day Dunmore’s mission continues as a critical development partner to many leading-edge companies, large and small, seeking an answer to their film needs. Dunmore’s film processing mastery must be credited in part to AIMCAL, who in the past four decades has proven to be a quintessential learning resource.
Dunmore experiences continued growth with its strategic business partners in research and development for new products and customized solutions. They have succeeded in their mission by working with their clients in confidence, usually under strict non-disclosure agreements, to develop the best solution to meet their client’s specific needs.
Dunmore’s development team members work directly with their clients rather than the indirect process many companies employ. This greatly expedites the process of finding answers to client needs. Working from three ISO 9001: 2000 certified facilities (Bristol PA, Brewster NY and Freiburg Germany) their teams are composed of professional Program Managers, Chemists, Process Engineers, and experienced operators, combining hundreds of years of industry experience designing custom program solutions.
The company provides aqueous, solvent and radiation-cured coating, metallizing and dry and wet laminating. It also provides all these processes in pilot systems and laboratories to fully experiment and analyze the best process before full scale production begins. Project managers keep all client projects on track, on time, and on budget. Due to the experience of many of their long term scientists, Dunmore clients benefit from literally hundreds of years of collective experience in solving film treatment challenges.
